Smooth Mobiles Warranty Options

After many years of experience in the mobile phone industry, we have been able to determine that only 3% of mobile phones (and branded electronics in general actually) will fail within the first 12 months. Companies that offer a 12 month warranty as standard don't give it to you for free, they build this into a higher retail price of the phone, though there are very few claims against that warranty in the first place.

At SmoothMobiles, we made the call that in order to fulfill our commitment to offering the very best pricing, customers could have the opportunity to forego the warranty option and thus pay a lower list price for the phone. For many, the idea of paying for something which only has a 3% chance of being used is not desirable. And so, by default the base price includes Dead on Arrival coverage, along with our famous 7 day money back guarantee.

Still, other customers prefer to have a warranty in place and it is on this basis that we offer both a 12 and 24 month localised warranty as an option at the point of sale.

7 Day Money back Guarantee

At Smooth Mobiles, we provide a unique 7 day money back guarantee on all products. That’s right, once we have shipped your mobile phone we offer a 7 day, no questions asked, unconditional money back guarantee on every phone purchased from us! All you need to do is send the phone to us (at your expense) in original condition with the box and all accessories and we will handle the rest.

We also provide a DOA (Dead on Arrival) coverage on all devices. In order to reduce the incidence of DOA, we test all devices at the warehouse before shipping. However if you have the rare and unfortunate experience of receiving a new device arrives and finding that it doesn't function, simply let us know within 48 hours of receipt and we'll organise a pick up and send you a new one.

Beyond the 7 day period no further warranty or replacement support is provided.  Smooth Mobiles recommends the 12 & 24 month warranty options listed below.

 

12 & 24 month warranty

If you are worried about falling into that 3% (let's be honest, some of us are just unlucky!), we offer a 12 month & 24 month localised warranty service through our warranty partners, Australian Warranty Services (AWS) at very competitive prices. You can select this option at time of purchase.

If your item develops a fault that is covered by warranty, the item is sent to our repair partner at your cost, but, assuming the issue is found to be a warranty related issue, the parts, labour and repair of the device are .

The warranty period of for 12 or 24 months from the date of purchase depending on which option you choose at the time of purchase.

Manufacturer's Warranty

You will notice that some products don't provide the above options but instead state that the "Warranty is provided by the manufacturer." In this case the manufacturer of the device offers an international warranty on their products, usually for 12 months. Please contact the manufacturer of the item directly if you are experiencing any issues or faults with the device. In the case of a manufacturers warranty, Smooth Mobiles offers an Extended Warranty of another 12 months after the completion of the 12 month manufacturers warranty (this is limited to 12 months under all circumstances).  If you need to make a warranty claim after the manufacturers 12 month warranty period has expired but within the 12 month extended Smooth Warranty period, please complete the form at Australian Warranty Services.
